The Artist: Phyllis Rowley

Phyllis Rowley combines her love of painting and photography in her new mixed media work. Inspired by the beauty of Nature, Phyllis spends much of her time out of the studio exploring, photographing and sketching beautiful natural landscapes and gardens in the United States and Europe. Captured images are then completed in her studio. Some of these images become mixed media paintings, others are completed as pastels, and some are optimized as beautiful photographic prints. She enjoys doing commission work for private clients and corporations in addition to working with art dealers, interior designers and art consultants. Phyllis has exhibited in galleries in New York City, New England and France. She is a graduate of Parsons School of Design and has taught college and continuing education courses in Art, Creativity and Photography. She also conducts pastel workshops in Italy and at many art centers in the United States. Currently, she is a faculty member of the Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan, Connecticut where she teaches pastel painting.

"Trend-setting, Imaginative, Mod, Colourful." As a unique fine art print resource, Poems continues to embrace contemporary art and artists. Poems are passionate about art and work closely with the artists they publish always looking for something unique either in colour, subject matter or treatment. The concept of "Poems" originated from a philosophy that art is poetry for the eye and stirs feeling, just as words entice the ear. Every piece of art is produced by an artist with a measure of passion.
