Melissa Lundberg's early career was spent working as a copywriter and also in advertising sales in Portland, Oregon. She was also a member of the Washington Poets Association and was known to give occasional readings.
Shortly after marrying, Lundberg moved to Stockholm to help her new husband with his business and children. Once the demands of the family and the business grew less she took the chance to pursue a childhood dream of learning to draw and to paint. After taking many art courses, she was encouraged and supported by her husband to attend the Florence Academy of Art, where she studied for two years in Italy.
She returned to the USA and studied for a further year at Paul Ingbretson's studio in Framingham, Massachusetts. Ingbretson's work is influenced by the 'Great Masters' and the 'Boston School' and he focuses on representational art. His courses are designed to empower aspiring artists with the ability to accurately 'see' and give them good sound basic techniques - the two main areas of the painters craft.
After a year of study, Lundberg then returned home to Sweden and worked hard to create a one-woman show in a Stockholm gallery that proved to be a great success. She also teaches through her local Community Activities and Culture Association and is a member of the Swedish Artist Association. Lundberg continues to paint and sell her works through her own studio and hosting summer workshops in the beautiful parks of Stockholm.
