...born in 1957 in Germany, she lives and works in France. Breath of Divine Daughter and granddaughter of artists, Elvira Amrhein’s work is deeply spiritual, intriguing and overwhelming. For a moment the divine becomes alive, imbuing the artist’s creations with the power to transform viewers into initiates. With a fluttering of wings, faces and bodies – like gold and marble spectres – take shape: melancholic and sensual, indeed, troubling.
