The Artist: Ann Parr

Ann was born in Stratford Ontario in 1951. She moved to British Columbia in 1953 but still visits and enjoys family, friends and the scenery of Southern Ontario. Ann started taking art courses in 1976 and attended the Kootenay School of the Arts in Nelson, BC in 1978/79. Ann moved to Sidney in the fall of 1979 and has since taken numerous classes, including a watercolor workshop with the noted California and Kootenay artist Les Weisbrich. Ann enjoys working in ink, watercolor, oil, and acrylics. Through a busy life with family and varying careers, she has always made the time to paint, as it is a dedication and a passion. Currently, she has a small studio with lots of wonderful north light. Ann is married to a local Sidney fisherman, Kelvin Campbell, and has a son, Tyler Rowe, who is attending the University of Victoria.
