The Artist: Clay Davidson

Clay Davidson was born in Jamaica in 1960 and became a Canadian citizen when he turned 18. He has studied, traveled and worked in various parts of Canada, making photography his chosen profession. Since 1984 European people, culture, history, contemporary art and architecture all have contributed to projects. France and Italy, where he lived and worked, make up a great amount of his work but he has also traveled in Greece, Spain, England, Austria, Germany, The Netherlands, Mexico and the United States. For a number of years he was a freelance fashion photographer and worked on national advertising campaigns for Eaton’s and Vogue in Milan. His black and white photography won an award from the Festival of Canadian Fashion in 1989. Clay Davidson’s collections of unique images depicting various subjects are available internationally.
