Jay Zhi Jian Li, a Chinese Canadian, was born in Guangdong Provence, China in 1962. Li studied the techniques of Chinese traditional water painting at the Fine Arts Academy of Guangzhu, where he graduated in 1985, and went on to become an assistant professor in the Fine Arts Department for four years until 1989. From 1989 to 1996, he traveled and resided in Australia and Europe and at the same time worked at Nikos Studios in Melbourne for a year where his broad interest in oil painting was further developed. While in Greece, he started to develop his own innovative style, which was inspired, by his paintings of Greece churches, combined with contemporary characteristics and enriched by his own touching feelings. Jay Zhi Jian Li’s works have been exhibited in countries all over the world, including Canada, Greece, Australia, and China and his original works can be found in collections in the United States, Greece, France, Holland, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, Japan and China.
