The Artist: Victor Santos

When Victor Santos left a successful career as a commercial artist, he turned his talents to the painting of still lifes and florals in oil and acrylic. Santos was born in the Philippines in 1934 and earned a degree in fine arts at the University of the Philippines. He began his career in advertising where he received numerous industry awards. In 1971, while working as a commercial artist in San Francisco, he was persuaded to move to Vancouver to take up painting on a full-time basis. Santos' style of realism displays a meticulous attention to detail. His purity of line and glowing colors give his work a quiet beauty which Canadian and American collectors esteem. Santos is now a Canadian citizen and works from his home in Delta, British Columbia.
