Angeles Maceira

Biography

Born into a Euro-Spanish/American household, Maceira began painting at a very young age. Her dreams of becoming an artist began to take form in high school, when she was selected to attend the prestigious North Carolina School of Arts. After graduating from NCSA in 1992, Maceira continued her art training at Atlanta College of Art in Georgia. In 1996 she received her BFA in painting with a minor in sculpture.

Maceira states, "I find my work with layering and collage to be a very meditative process. I want the viewers to find themselves lost within the nuances of my work, giving them a moment of visual and emotional relaxation."
