Danny Todd

Biography

Danny Todd was born in Coleraine, in Northern Ireland. Like so many artists he has been strongly influenced by his surroundings and being brought up near the Antrim coast so close to the famous Giant’s Causeway has certainly made an impression. He has since established an excellent reputation for his beautiful representations of the Irish coast and countryside.

Todd’s artistic style comes more from a lithographic and sign writing background and as an artist, using mainly oils as his medium, he is completely self taught. He has since developed a keen eye for colour and has great sensitivity when it comes to depicting subtle contrasts of light and shade which are incredibly important elements in his work.

Todd credits such artists as Maurice Wilks, Frank McKelvy, J Humbert Craig and Arthur Twells as his influences and has gradually established a fine reputation for his landscape work. His work is now exhibited in galleries in Coleraine, Ballymena and throughout the rest of Ireland. He has also sold his work through Christie’s as well as having his work held in private collections worldwide
