Martin Smith
Biography
Martin Smith has a Fine Art degree and a Fellowship in Drawing and Painting from the Wirral Metropolitan College - he also has a qualification in Photography. He has exhibited in Manchester and London, much of his work is sold privately. His abstract paintings are produced with the aim of making a painted surface come alive. Working in oil, he builds up his paintings over time in a continual process of re-working the surface. He sometimes spends weeks on his canvases, scraping back and adding layers of paint - this continual process of revision is fundamental to Martins' painting.Martin Smith images appear in:
