Marco Castilla

Biography

Marco Castilla was born in 1970 at Montreuil-sous-Bois in the Paris area. He came from a family of artists. Self-taught, he worked on designing sets for the theatre, cinema and television. He then moved on to making animation films, video clips and advertising, areas in which he won several prices in festivals. Gradually, he came to painting. He adopted a determinedly graphic and modern style. His favourite subjects are women: pensive, sensual, arrogant… All facets of their personality are represented in pure and stylised faces.

His paintings are regularly exhibited in Paris in various galleries and exhibition venues.
