Joanne Parent

Biography

Joanne grew up in Mid-Coast Maine watching her father paint, draw and photograph the people and places around him. Learning how to draw from her father, she was inspired to become an artist at an early age. While primarily self-taught, Joanne has studies at the Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine. Joanne has traveled extensively; sailing and painting in different parts of the world, while continuously drawing inspiration from Maine. While the Maine Windjammer Fleet always inspires her, she also endeavors to capture the essence of the many different cloud formations and patterns of light that are seen in Maine and Northern New England. She also loves to capture the delicate beauty in nature; like flower petals reflecting the sunlight in the late afternoon. Joanne currently shows her work at numerous art shows and galleries throughout New England including Parent Gallery, Camden Falls Gallery, and Lovell Designs.
