Biography
Having studied painting at Leeds College of Art in the 1960's, Rosemary Abrahams has enjoyed a career as a painter for many years, alongside leading a Design Consultancy. While work in Europe, the Fear East, the USA and Canada has done much to widen her visual vocabulary, it is a love of the local landscape in her native Yorkshire which now informs and inpires her. She employs a degree of abstraction in her exploration of landscape, which enables her to capture the quality of light that is such a distinctive feature of her work. Dawn and dusk give luminosity ot the sky and a mistiness to the land, which Rosemary evocatively translates into rich, textured surfaces and paint effects from deep hues to the subtlest washes. Rosemary exhibits widely in the North of England, London and Europe, and has work in collections world wide.
