Biography
Shelley Hall was born in Pullman, Washington. She has lived in Illinois, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, and Florida. As a child she was always drawing, painting, and creating. She became an artist because of the absolute desire/need to create – to pursue the quest for beauty and visual communication. Shelley loves the meditative, spiritual and emotional ability of art to communicate what words cannot. She works about four days a week in a separate studio behind her house and likes to paint at night. Old oak trees, a creek and small mountains surround her studio. Nature inspires her work. Shelley attended San Francisco State University. In 1989 she obtained her BA in Psychology and in 1993 her BA in Art, with an emphasis on painting and drawing. Shelley's work is communicated by a sense of serenity, mystery and depth. The layers are representative of the layers, depth and complexity of life. Her recent solo exhibition includes A Gallery “Shelley Hall” Palm Desert, CA 2005. Some of her selected corporate collections include the California State Bank & Trust, Carlsbad, CA, and the Mandalay Bay Hotel, Las Vegas, NV.
