Clive Metcalfe

Biography

Clive studied at Southampton Art College and Chelsea School of Art in the early 1960s. During this period he illustrated a book for the British Museum and became heavily involved in the pop scene as a founder member of the group, Pink Floyd.

For fifteen years Clive worked as a designer goldsmith exhibiting at Goldsmiths Hall. He was head of the jewellery section at Southampton Institute of Higher Education and was seconded to Sir John Cass, London to teach and to write a degree course.

Clive's painting activity has increased again in recent years. He set up his own gallery with his wife, Christa, in August 1999. As well as painting vibrant landscapes, seascapes and abstracts, Clive also specialises in the portrayal of classic racing cars.
