Biography
Jeremy Cangialosi was born in Rochester, England, but spent a considerable part of his childhood in the Middle East. On his return, he studied art at the Croydon College of Art & Design before moving on the the Slade School of Fine Art (University of London.) Early inspiration came from working alongside sculptors in Greenwich who painted on large steel shapes. Jeremy initially spent his time painting large objects, but when space ran out in his studio, he started painting on board and then canvas. Today he paints with acrylics, watercolors and enamels. When describing his technique for creating his art, he says, “I always look for new techniques to make new marks and lines or shapes with paint. I often overlap shapes and line to give a feeling of depth and belonging to the work.” The artists he most admires are Piet Mondrian and Ben Nicholson. When not painting or creating, Jeremy can be found either swimming or walking. He gets inspiration from what he sees around him, for example, from looking at the shapes and patterns made by jet engine trails in the sky.
