Biography
Oscar Lakeman’s Container series began several years ago. At the time, Oscar was painting large photo realistic still-lifes with an airbrush technique. He regarded the airbrush as a great tool, though it places a literal distance between the artist and the canvas. While looking for a more hands-on method, Oscar wanted to use hand brushing in his work in addition to the airbrush. Oscar stated, “In one of those moments in the studio, the solution was right in front of me. My cups, jars, brushes, and the mess I make everyday, was the perfect subject…. Paintings about painting.”
