Paul Jorgensen

Biography

Paul Jorgensen was born in Tofino, British Columbia. He studied at the Vancouver School of Art (now the Emily Carr School of Art and Design), and currently paints from his home studio.

His brightly colored landscapes have a delightfully different sense of perspective. In many of his art works the surface is filled to overflowing with an interlocking puzzle of forms and shapes. Some of these shapes, like the pointed roofs, roads, and trees add visual energy and focus. Other shapes, which are repeated, make patterns that resemble ploughed fields, winding hedges, and neatly planted gardens. Patterns, color, and texture combine to create a fanciful universe and our eyes rejoice in the exploration of this magical kingdom.
